It stimulates erythropoiesis, participates in the synthesis of amino acids (methionine, serine), nucleic acids, purines, pyrimidines and in the exchange of choline. It is an integral part of group B vitamins. Indications for use. Megaloblastic anemia in pregnant women, preparation for pregnancy, alimentary and other anemia, spru, psoriasis, radiation injuries of the skin, photodermatosis, rosacea, dermatosis.
Dosage and administration.
For the prevention of folic insufficiency, it is prescribed orally at 0.2-0.5 g daily.
The duration of treatment is 20-30 days.
During pregnancy, take 0.4 g per day, while breastfeeding – 0.3 g. The duration of the course is selected individually by the attending physician.
For therapeutic purposes, adults are prescribed 5 mg per day, for children – in lower doses, depending on age.
In cosmetology, 5-10 mg are prescribed 1-2 times a day.
Vitamin B12 (Vitaminum B12). Cyanocobolamine.
It has high biological activity. It is necessary for normal hematopoiesis, participates in the formation of choline, methionine, nucleic acids. It has a beneficial effect on the metabolism of carbohydrates and lipids. Activates the blood coagulation system. It reduces the concentration of cholesterol in the blood, improves the function of the liver and nervous system, increases the ability of tissues to regenerate.
Indications for use.
Chronic anemia associated with vitamin B12 deficiency and in the complex treatment of other anemia, chronic hepatitis, cirrhosis, liver failure. Alcoholism, prolonged fever. Polyneuritis, sciatica, neuralgia (including trigeminal neuralgia), malnutrition, peripheral nerve injuries, cerebral palsy, Down’s disease. Psoriasis, photodermatosis, rosacea, neurodermatitis, keratosis and other dermatoses, dermatitis, seborrhea, hair loss.
For prophylactic purposes – in case of malabsorption, Vit B12 in the gastrointestinal tract with resection of a part of the stomach, small intestine, Crohn’s disease, celiac disease, malignant formations of the pancreas and intestines, radiation sickness. Stress and long-term infections.
Dosage and administration.
For therapeutic purposes, from 100 μg -500 μg is prescribed daily, every other day or every few days, depending on the disease. The course of treatment is from 7 days to 40 days.
For prophylaxis – 1 mg once a month in / m or / in. Young children with alimentary anemia and premature babies – s / c, 30 mcg per day daily for 15 days. With dystrophies in young children, Down’s disease and cerebral palsy – s / c, 15-30 mcg every other day.
